Message overloading the pump motor. There is an overpressure switch in our pumps that will interrrupt power to the brushes if the outflow is blocked.

What I did for the gas turbine engine was to use a fuel pressure regulator and a needle valve to control flow of fuel into the turbine's combustor. What isn't used simply dumps back to the tank via the regulator's return port.

Pump out -> "T" Fitting. One side of the T goes to the regulator, the other side goes to the needle valve. Run a return line to your tank from the regulator's return port. The other leg of the needle valve is where you will connect your device - the more you open the needle valve, the more fuel flow you will get.

I did it this way because I had not built a PWM controller for the pump to vary duty cycle and simply drove it at 12V continuous. The regulator will bypass 100% of the pump's output back to the tank when the needle valve is closed. The pump didn't seem to mind this arrangement at all.
